Arbor Pharmaceuticals Launches ZINOTIC™ – A Novel Treatment Developed to Relieve the Pain of Outer Ear Infections While Eliminating Infection and Protecting the Skin
Raleigh, NC – Arbor Pharmaceuticals announced today that the company’s first product, ZINOTIC™, has recently been launched in the US and is now available to healthcare practitioners to prescribe for their patients suffering from common outer ear infections. ZINOTIC™ is a novel ear solution that combines chloroxylenol, pramoxine and zinc acetate and is indicated for the treatment of acute otitis externa, or AOE, which is also referred to as swimmer’s ear. ZINOTIC™ combines three unique medications in a patented ear solution. Each component of ZINOTIC™ is important to help decrease symptoms and advance the healing process. Because children are most often affected by outer ear infections having all three medicines in a single topical solution delivers a high level of convenience to the parents and patients.

The most common side effects of pramoxine (contained in ZINOTIC™) include redness, irritation, swelling, burning, stinging, pain or dryness at the affected area. Treatment with ZINOTIC™ should not be continued for longer than ten days and the source of infection and/or inflammation or sensitization evaluated to determine whether therapy should be changed.
